Hi Everyone and welcome to my blog. Who would have thought that I would start a blog, especially about couponing? I got faced with a lot of harsh realities growing up, and most of it revolved around money. Everything requires some form of payment ie "No free lunch". I always worked hard, and maybe decent money, yet I never had a savings. I have big plans for my future, owning a home, getting married, and eventually having a family. Looking at my financial situation now there would be no way I could think of what I want for the future. Being let go from work, living off EI, and still wanting to have a social life wasn't making it any easier. Then I discovered couponing. Coupons have been around forever. I use to play with the machines that automatically spit them out. I look at a coupon now and think of the possibilites it holds. There are couponers out there who have never had to pay for soap, toilet paper, or shampoo since they began couponing. In a normal household these toiletries are essentials that need to be purchased at least once a month or more, and cost the most. Couponing has given me a sense of confidence and peace of mind. I know now that reaching my goals are possible, because I won't be paying full price anymore.
Since I started couponing in January, I have got groceries for free: soup, juice, oatmeal, chips, and ice cream. I have got free toiletries such as toothbrushes, pit stick, advil, feminine needs, toilet bowl cleaner and scored great deals on toilet paper, laundry soap, and diapers (I'm not pregnant, I gave them away as baby shower gifts).
In order to stay on top of deals, and coupons I frequent the http://www.smartcanucks.com/ website. I learned everything I know there. I also learned that couponers are such generous and kind people. Every 2nd Saturday I attend a coupon meeting. We talk about deals, which stores to go to, and which ones to avoid, and trade our coupons we won't use. It's so nice to meet other couponers, and to hear their stories. They coupon to purchase items at a good deal, and if they have too much, they donate the products to shelters. So far I've been giving them away to family and friends.
I want to take all the tricks and tips I've learned and share them with all of you. Message me if you have any questions, and I am more than happy to help. I will be posting all the deals I find, and freebies. Also check my facebook status updates, I tend to post them there to.
